Creating New Courses
No two sites are the same and no two golf courses should be the same. Whether the final result is a woodland, parkland, heathland or downland course, the inspiration will come from the landscape, its ecology, its contours and its features, all of which dictate the final masterplan.Our aim as golf course architects is to extract the individual character from each site whilst drawing on the varied elements that make it unique.
Our ideas evolve from the site itself and we do not merely rubber stamp a single style upon each site. Sometimes material must be moved to create the sense of immediacy that is required of a new golf course. But volume of material moved, in itself, is no measure of quality. We aim to combine the 3 main elements of golf course architecture; namely the penal, strategic and heroic philosophies that make golf such an exciting and varied sporting challenge.
Our courses are designed to be enjoyed by all golfers so that whilst there is clearly a different approach to a pay as you play public course from that required for a 'championship' venue, by providing strategic lines of play, options are created that will give any golfer a challenge to suit their game.
