Dore and Totley G.C.

Site during construction

The Dore and Totley GC was opened in 1913, though designed with one or two inbred defects – e.g. cross over holes - that from a modern perspective were an unacceptable Health and Safety risk. Furthermore the possibility of a new location for the clubhouse with two starting and finishing points close to the clubhouse and additional car parking meant that three alternative layouts had to be drawn up with the maximum flexibility for future changes.

Five new holes were recently constructed which has not only eradicated the cross over holes but also added some 200 yards to the layout. The extension was opened by the Minister for Sport, Richard Cabourn, in 2005
